SMOTHERED SAUSAGE & POTATOES
My mom loved cooking in the crockpot. She used russet potatoes and andouille sausage in this recipe along with shrimp my dad and I would catch in the gulf down near Cameron. Plenty of garlic, onion, bell pepper and Cajun spices make this an absolute flavor explosion. I see many variations of this recipe on the internet, most are very similar and I’m sure they’re all very tasty. I mean, there’s not much you can do to mess up a recipe this simple and delicious.
1 lb. smoked sausage
2 lbs. russet potatoes
med. Onion
bell pepper
2 garlic cloves
onion powder
Cajun seasoning
Italian seasoning
1/4 c. chicken broth
1 tbsp. Zatarain's Shrimp and Crab Boil Concentrate
1 lb. uncooked shrimp
1 bunch green onions
